to major blood vessels, including the arteries supplying
blood from the heart and the portal vein which carries blood to the
liver from the stomach and
intestines. These all need to be disconnected
with immense care. They will need to be used again,
when attaching the donor liver. There are two sources of blood
supply into the liver, these are the portal vein and the
hepatic artery
