One hundred and ten years standing here strong and sturdy. But there's nothing now that can keep this tree alive
another year. I used to walk
by the hill on my way to school every day and I just loved
looking up at the tree. Mary isn't the only one
who loves the tree. There's a growing number
of local residents who are bonding
over their recollections of how much the tree has meant
to them over the years, and the emotion
in some of their voices hints at what it might feel like when the tree is finally
ripped out of the ground and is gone forever,
once and for all. Oh, yeah. I think this section, we don't use
because it's too sentimental

One hundred and ten years
00:00:02.871 --> 00:00:04.229
standing here strong and sturdy.
00:00:04.331 --> 00:00:05.631
But there's nothing now
00:00:05.733 --> 00:00:07.873

hints at what it might feel like

when the tree is finally
ripped out of the ground
00:00:28.999 --> 00:00:31.073
