What I could see was that
three times in the West, there had been a period of
flourishing of a civilization-- Athens in the 6th century BC,
the beginning of the empire in Rome, then once again
in the early Renaissance-- and that this civilization,
in each three cases, showed a marvelous balance
of right hemisphere and left hemisphere
