Margit:
[to Jónas, referring to her Mother]
She remembers how everything was. She was always telling me stories. Once there was a man who lived far away in the mountains. Mother:
...far away in the mountains. He was lonely because his wife was dead, and they had had no children. One day when he was out with the sheep, he heard weeping from behind a rock. He went to look and found a large bird with a broken wing. "Help me," she said, "and I will stay with you until I give you a son. But then I must leave you and continue on my journey." So, he took her home and nursed her. In time, her wing healed and she bore him a tiny, feathered son. "You helped me and I gave you a son. But you can see he has feathers and is more like me than you. The birds will tell him what he needs to know." Then she flew up and away, and her young son and with her, and they disappeared forever. [to Margit] Mother:
And now it's time for you to go to sleep

Finally he remembered one rock
00:00:04.212 --> 00:00:07.632
far in the north where two trolls were living
00:00:07.715 --> 00:00:10.927
He went there and called them out
00:00:11.097 --> 00:00:13.638
They came and had to admit
00:00:13.721 --> 00:00:16.641
that they had stolen the man's wife
00:00:16.724 --> 00:00:18.056
They brought her out to show
00:00:18.643 --> 00:00:21.479
but she was in a glass box
00:00:21.563 --> 00:00:24.482
asleep as if she were dead
00:00:24.566 --> 00:00:28.194
And there was nothing Olaf could do to bring her back
00:00:28.278 --> 00:00:30.738
Although he made the trolls promise
00:00:30.822 --> 00:00:33.998
to go back into the rock
