Overnight, the snow which everyone's
been waiting for has finally arrived... with a vengeance. On the road that is the only
link between Aviemore and the hill, the snow gates are closed. There was about 12 inches of snow last night in the valley, so pretty hard even just
getting into work this morning. None of the roads have been
ploughed beyond Aviemore. Electricity was off last
night at the house. And we're just waiting at the snow
gates to let the ploughs do a little bit of work. If the skiers are to get to
the slopes, it's vital to get the road open, but there's so much snow, even the
snowploughs are struggling to cope. Whoa! Trying to get through, but the
snow's heavier than yesterday so we'll just get pushed
against the barrier and end up going over the edge
