The situation
in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, seems to be growing increasingly clear. After mass demonstrations
for freedom of speech, free elections and more independence
from the Soviet Union, opposition leader Imre Nagy named his new government today and officially recognized
the revolution. The Soviet Union announced its intention to withdraw its troops from Hungary. Russian troops
have already handed over control of Budapest to the new government. The Russians are pulling out.
