down in the South Bay were considered very safe. You know, they were a place
where airline pilots and stews hung out, because it was close to LAX and only a couple of feet from some of the most
beautiful beach area in all of California. A lot of young girls,
a lot of muscle builders. It was a happening place, man. Everybody was going
down to The Strand, because that's where
the action was. Unfortunately,
there was so much action, that's where Bittaker and Norris went to find their victims. - Hitchhiking was part
of the culture. I myself had tried it
a couple times
