(Laughing) El Alto, Bolivia sits
13,000 feet above sea level, overlooking the
capital city of La Paz. It's home to over
a million residents, most of whom are of the
Indigenous Aymara or Quechua. For decades, Bolivia has
had a style of wrestling highly derivative of
Mexican Lucha Libre, but around 15 years ago
in a rapidly changing political climate, the Fighting
Cholitas came into being. I'm meeting with my local guide
and Bolivian historian Valeria to show me around and to
find out who these women are, and how they came
to be wrestlers. Most of the people in Bolivia,
it's a mix between Indigenous and all our roots from Spanish, but we have like 75% of our
population right now Indigenous
