I didn't get medication-- that right medication
till I was, like, 42. And I was like, "Oh, this is
what people are talking about. Like, life's just pretty okay
all the time." - Yeah, yeah. Seeing you actually
do things with your life... {\an1}- Yeah. - Was really,
really inspirational. - Oh, yeah.
Oh, thank you so much. - When I was 18, 19,
my mom used to beat me up like we were squabbling Walmart
parking lot one time just all of a sudden, you know,
"You think you all that 'cause you was on
that one TV show, bitch?" Like beating me up, like
literally, whupping my ass. {\an1}And I had a show that night. Do you think
I was missing my show? Hell no.
They was paying me 150 bucks. Got my ass on that stage
with that busted lip and that black eye
and talked about it. Nobody really laughed
that hard. And I did cry, but I didn't take it
as a bomb or nothing. I took it
as a counseling session with a bunch of strangers,
period
