give honor to God, who is the source of my strength and the reason for my being. I thank you,
Mr. Mooty and the NAACP, for inviting me
to speak before you all in Harlem, New York City. Yes. My son's brutalized body
meant nothing to Mississippi's
criminal justice system. And while they blamed
the victim, as usual, the federal government
stood idly by. If this country fails to protect the Black body from hate, America has yet to meet
her promise. Amen! Either freedom for everyone,
or freedom fails!
