In the mid-'70s, comedian Andre Van
Duin had travelled to Blackpool to interview his idol for
a Dutch showbiz magazine. So, I'm here on the front page and on the inside, that's where we
talk and where I tell him who I was. He never heard of me, of course,
and then we have a lot of drinks. You can see that, also, here,
and I was not a big drinker
and after that, I was very ill. The next day I have to lay down
in bed the whole day in the hotel,
but then he gave me the autograph. 'To Andre, best wishes,
Tommy Cooper. Nice to meet you.' Egg cup, ball
