That night watching him here,
we were nervous, Dustin and I, because we knew that
we had to follow him. There was going to be a commercial
break but we were going to go on
after Tommy Cooper. Then Sandy, the dancer, came on with the cloak and Tommy said,
'Thanks, love.' Thank you, love. And as she walked off,
he started to fall, and I remember her turning around
looking and laughing, just as the whole audience did
and we did, cos we thought, 'Well, that must be a joke.' But, Tommy Junior said,
'No, no, it's not a joke because my dad has a bad back,
he wouldn't be able to get up
from that.' And the producer, he had just kind
of hit the show relay and said, 'Cue music, cue commercial break.'
