Given the circumstances of the time, it's not surprising that an initiative
emerged within the Pentagon to establish a program to investigate
the UFO phenomenon. The foundations were laid for the creation of the longest
and most wide-spanning government UFO monitoring program: Project Blue Book. Project Blue book was run
by the United States Air Force and it was the best known of the three UFO research and investigation
programs that the US government had had in the early days
