We're not
a public health lab. As a clinical lab,
we're not part of this system. You know, the CDC and the state
public health labs are fantastic, but clinical labs, like hospital clinical labs,
commercial labs, perform 90% to 95% of testing. We really are the front lines
of the public health system, and so it's really important that we're a part of
that conversation as well. So we're trying
to figure out, is it better to just deal with the FDA
and the backlog there and set up
our own in-house testing, or do we just wait for the CDC to fix the issues
with the test? We decided initially to wait, and that was
the wrong decision

We're not
a public health lab.
00:00:02.087 --> 00:00:05.105
As a clinical lab,
we're not part of this system.
00:00:05.138 --> 00:00:06.024
You know, the CDC and the state
public health labs
00:00:06.272 --> 00:00:07.024
are fantastic,
00:00:07.274 --> 00:00:09.001
but clinical labs,
00:00:09.109 --> 00:00:10.944
like hospital clinical labs,
commercial labs,
00:00:10.977 --> 00:00:14.581
perform 90% to 95% of testing.
00:00:14.615 --> 00:00:17.852
We really are the front lines
of the public health system,
00:00:17.885 --> 00:00:19.553
and so it's really important
00:00:19.586 --> 00:00:22.622
that we're a part of
that conversation as well.
00:00:22.656 --> 00:00:24.859
So we're trying
to figure out, is it better
00:00:24.892 --> 00:00:27.727
to just deal with the FDA
and the backlog there
00:00:27.761 --> 00:00:29.763
and set up
our own in-house testing,
00:00:29.796 --> 00:00:31.799
or do we just wait for the CDC
00:00:31.832 --> 00:00:33.801
to fix the issues
with the test?
00:00:33.834 --> 00:00:36.087
We decided initially to wait,
00:00:36.903 --> 00:00:39.739
and that was
the wrong decision.
