on the night of November 14th, it was under this bridge that the murder of 14-year-old Reena Virk began. A fight took place right here
in this very spot. Six teenagers, now infamously
known as "The Shoreline Six", swarmed Virk and beat her savagely,
leaving her bloody and bruised. Earlier today,
the four teenagers who beat Virk and then left the scene were found guilty
of aggravated assault, each sentenced to one year
in the Youth Custody Center of Victoria, a co-ed juvenile detention facility. I think they deserved their punishment,
