came from Winston Churchill. The Prime Minister
had a warning for Stalin. British intelligence
had detected massive German troop build-ups
on the Soviet border. It could mean only one thing, that Hitler planned
to invade the Soviet Union. [gloomy tune] Stalin, paranoid as ever, dismissed it
as a "capitalist trick." Roosevelt also had intelligence
about the attack and told Stalin
it was as certain as that the night
followed the day that as soon as Hitler
had conquered France, he would turn on Russia. Both Churchill and Roosevelt
warned Stalin in 1941 that an invasion
was going to happen
