Laura and Robert must now take
on board the couple's conflicting visions for this space
to have any hope of winning them as clients. So, how do you see the final
house finished? I want something cosy and
a bit intimate that I can retreat to. I think I want the office here, so I want a bit more like
a Shoreditch coffee shop. Quite masculine. I want to feel spacious in there. The Japanese seem
to have their rooms flow. They can kind of section bits off. Screens and...? Yeah, and that's what I like about
that kind of concept. So, how do you square the circle
of you wanting, essentially, a kind of closed-plan solution and
you wanting it completely open-plan? It's kind of... It's how you would
achieve that. ..impossible. Yeah, it's like a barrier to our
creativity is kind of wedged across there because
we went into it going, "Right, we want to change the whole
of the house," and then we got there
and it was like, "I have no idea what to do now."

Laura and Robert must now take
on board the couple's conflicting
00:00:04.044 --> 00:00:07.028
visions for this space
to have any hope of winning
00:00:07.028 --> 00:00:08.048
them as clients.
00:00:09.096 --> 00:00:12.056
So, how do you see the final
house finished?
00:00:12.056 --> 00:00:16.012
I want something cosy and
a bit intimate
00:00:16.012 --> 00:00:17.072
that I can retreat to.
00:00:17.072 --> 00:00:18.096
I think I want the office here,
00:00:18.096 --> 00:00:21.056
so I want a bit more like
a Shoreditch coffee shop.
00:00:21.056 --> 00:00:22.096
Quite masculine.
00:00:22.096 --> 00:00:25.999
I want to feel spacious in there.
00:00:25.999 --> 00:00:27.064
The Japanese seem
to have their rooms flow.
00:00:27.064 --> 00:00:29.008
They can kind of section bits off.
00:00:29.008 --> 00:00:31.016
Screens and...?
00:00:31.016 --> 00:00:34.004
Yeah, and that's what I like about
that kind of concept.
00:00:34.004 --> 00:00:38.096
So, how do you square the circle
of you wanting, essentially,
00:00:38.096 --> 00:00:42.006
a kind of closed-plan solution and
you wanting it completely open-plan?
00:00:43.092 --> 00:00:47.999
It's kind of... It's how you would
achieve that. ..impossible.
00:00:47.999 --> 00:00:50.024
Yeah, it's like a barrier to our
creativity is kind of wedged
00:00:50.024 --> 00:00:52.044
across there because
we went into it going,
00:00:52.044 --> 00:00:54.068
"Right, we want to change the whole
of the house,"
00:00:54.068 --> 00:00:56.016
and then we got there
and it was like,
00:00:56.016 --> 00:00:57.044
"I have no idea what to do now."
