Oh, my God! It's wide, isn't it? It's really... It's got great
space and really feels open. The cluttered hallway
and the fridge are gone. Now, an extra wide, bright and airy
space welcomes you, classically positioned
in the centre of the house. I would have thought a hall is
kind of just a way from A to B. But actually it really sets the tone
for the whole place. I suppose it seems like a bit of
an extravagance to have a huge hall, but if it's doing
lots of different things, it's your main circulation route, you've got all your storage,
utility. And it's the first place
that you walk through. You know, you need space to take
your coat off, to greet, to have a hug,
to have a little chat, so I think the hall
is kind of underrated. Enough about the hallway. I want
the full guided tour. Absolutely. I'm so happy with it. Laura's plan was to turn
this cramped, dark home into a light-filled
open-plan living space with a supersized kitchen
