We called in our contractors
to dig into the sinking floor and see what they could find. It turns out some leaky pipes
from that old bathroom caused a bunch of wood rot
in that corner. Fortunately, the damage was to the horizontal anchor beams, which had started
to buckle and collapse. This is great news
because it's much easier to replace horizontal beams
than it is to fix a faulty foundation
or to replace the vertical beams that the horizontal ones
rest on
